Craig studied architecture in Liverpool, Canterbury and Dusseldorf. He worked for architectural practices in Duesseldorf, Berlin, Dublin and London.
He believes that it is through materials and details that people experience and understand their environment; that the bigger ideas that shape buildings and cities are explained through careful attention to the smaller ideas. He believes that the process of designing, building and inhabiting the environment is a continuous, joined up one and that architects must encourage the creative dialogue between clients, designers, builders and end-users in order to make that process work to its full potential.
He is interested in architectural education and has taught at the Museum of Modern Art in Dublin and University College Dublin and he has been a guest critic at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London. Craig maintains the practice’s close links with universities and schools. He is the key point of contact for schools which send their pupils to the studio for work placements and he takes up the mentoring role required for architectural students working in the studio who wish to complete their professional experience papers and examinations at RIBA Part 2 and 3 levels.
